Baker, Nancy Ruth (O'Brien) - September 10, 2017


Nancy Ruth (O’Brien) Baker, 53, of New Britain, loving wife of Rodney Russell Baker, died Sunday night (September 10, 2017) at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden. Born in New Britain, daughter of the late James and the late Ruth (Anderson) O’Brien, she graduated from Southington High School, served in the US Marine Corps, earned her LPN at E.C. Goodwin Technical School, and was employed as a nurse at the Connecticut Department of Corrections. She was a member of American Legion Post #33 in Plainville where she was Past Commander, and a member of the Marine Corps League Hardware City Detachment. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lauren Tabor-Ciuksza of New Britain, and Jennifer Tabor-Ayala of Plainville, a son, Andrew Baker of New Britain, a sister, Cathy Ross in Ohio, two grandsons, Parys Ciuksza Jr. and Manuel Ayala, and many loving extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday (September 20, 2017) at 11am DIRECTLY at First Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 77 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill, will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, on Tuesday (September 19, 2017) from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Connecticut and Western MA Office, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067, or Friends of Berlin Animal Control, P.O.
