KENSINGTON Ė Donna (Mayer) Kulas, 57 of Kensington, loving wife of Kenneth Kulas Sr. and mother of Kenneth Kulas Jr. died peacefully Monday (July 7, 2014) at Yale New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late William and Shirley (McCormack) Mayer. She graduated from Berlin High School and attended Central Connecticut State University. She was employed as a Loan Officer at Farmington Bank. She was a member of St. Paulís Church and Chairperson of BSA Troop 24. Donna loved spending time in her garden and was an excellent baker Ė her specialties were her Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chocolate Cream Pie, but her greatest joy in life was her family. In addition to her husband, son, and dog "Bear", Donna is also survived by her Sister Patricia (Mayer) Ference and her husband Michael; four brothers, Michael Mayer and his wife Deborah, William Mayer and his wife Karen, Robert Mayer, and Edward Mayer; a brother-in-law Phillip Kulas and his wife Marsha, all of Berlin. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.The family would like to thank the MICU staff at the Smilow Cancer Hospital for the love and care they showed Donna during her time there. Funeral Services will start at Porterís Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, on Saturday (July 12, 2014) at 11am, followed by a funeral liturgy at 11:30 am at St. Paulís Church on Alling Street. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday (July 12, 2014) from 9-11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital in memory of Donna Kulas at Yale New Haven Hospital - Development Office, 2 Howe Street, New Haven CT 06511.
