Martin, Gregory - April 15, 2015

MARTIN, Gregory Richard, 66, slipped peacefully away April 15, 2015. Greg was born March 7, 1949 to the late Priscilla Whiting Roundy and Richard Saunders Martin. Greg was a blessing. He was peaceful and easy-going with an endless strength of character and joie de vivre. By his nature people were drawn to him. He was a teacher - he taught us to fight for what is right and to have a good attitude and proper perspective. He helped us to understand and how to relate to his world, to treat each new day as another opportunity to make a difference, to smile a lot, and speak up. Through him we came to know that our time is precious and we need to do our best with our gift of grace. Greg especially loved his family at Corbin Avenue and recently Unionville Avenue. He is survived by brothers Kenneth R. Martin [Dana] and Gary S. Martin [Gia]; four nephews; special caring family of Central Connecticut Association for Retarded Citizens (CCARC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Hospital of Central Connecticut (HCC), Visiting Nurses Association (VNA); and unwavering advocate Bruce Cleinman. A Celebration of Life will be held in June at a time and date to be announced. Expressions of sympathy may be made to CCARC, Inc., 950 Slater Road, New Britain, CT 06053. In Greg’s honor remember to smile, to “slow down” and to “beep it the horn” whenever you drive away.
