Joseph DiBattista, 92, of Kensington, passed away peacefully on Friday, at Middlesex Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Ida (Ruscio) DiBattista. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Joseph and Amelia DiBattista. Joseph was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He has been a Kensington resident for 68 years. Joseph was a co-owner of Royal Machine and Tool. He was a member of St. Paul Church and of the Knights of Columbus. He was a very gracious and generous man, often offering a helping hand to those who crossed his path. His love for life was undeniable. Whether it was traveling around the world by boat or simply playing cards with family at home, he enjoyed every last bit this life had to offer. His laughter and smile will be remembered forever. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Kevin Murphy of Kensington, his grandchildren Eric Murphy and his wife Kelly of CA, Allison Semenuk and her husband (Doug) of Plantsville, and Kelly Murphy of CA, his great grandchildren Dylan and Corrine Murphy, Landon and Skylar Semenuk, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 am at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Kensington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Church at 10:00 am. Entombment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
