Ksiazkowski, Stanley Theodore - September 03, 2015

KENSINGTON - Stanley Theodore “Ted” Ksiazkowski, 67, of Kensington, loving husband of Patricia (Finnegan) Ksiazkowski for forty years, and beloved father of Julie Ksiazkowski-Fernandes, died suddenly on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in New Britain, son of the late Stanley and Helen (Pawelczyk) Ksiazkowski, he graduated from New Britain High School where he loved to play football, and later attended Manchester Community College. In his early career, he was self-employed in the bakery industry where he was able to employ relatives and close friends. Long before it was fashionable, he welcomed the opportunity to become a full time caregiver to his daughter during her early years, and cherished that special time with her. Prior to his retirement, Ted worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Development Services, where he took great pride and satisfaction in improving the lives of those in his care. Large of a man in stature, equal was the size of his heart. Ted took great pleasure in all things that he did, whether it was cooking, exploring gourmet restaurants, telling countless stories, putting others at ease, making others laugh, taking countless camping trips and spending time with his family. His greatest joy was becoming a “Gramper” and enjoying time playing with and teaching his grandson Evan. In addition to his wife and daughter; he is survived by his son-in-law Raul Fernandes, and grandson Evan Fernandes. A kind, caring and fun-loving man, he will be deeply missed by many friends and his extended family, including sisters-in-law Maureen Nuerakis, Kathy Matthews, and brother-in-law Bill Finnegan, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlin Highway, Berlin on Wednesday (September 9, 2015) from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Church, 467 Alling Street, Kensington on Thursday (September 10, 2015) at 11:30am. Guests will meet at the Funeral Home Thursday at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ted’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
