Raymond Peter Victor, 89, of Berlin died peacefully at home Saturday (February 6, 2016). Born in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, son of the late Peter and the late Anna (Kozokas) Victor, he moved to Connecticut in 1936 and lived in New Britain, Berlin, and Bristol before retiring to Woodstock and Florida in 2006, and returned to Berlin two years ago to be closer to his family, friends and the community where he spent the majority of his life. He worked for 61 years in the manufacturing and tool and die industry, and was owner and president of RAM Tool, Inc. in Berlin and retired in 2003 as a cost engineer from Yard Metals. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in New Britain where he served on the Board of Deacons, Trustees, and Elders, the Berlin Lions Club since 1967 where he served for many years on the Berlin Fair and the Memorial Pool Committees, and was honored by the club as a Melvin Jones Fellow and a Knight of the Blind, and the Donau Club in New Britain. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Brian and Nancy Victor of Miramar, FL, his daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Charles Hellings of Basking Ridge, NJ, four grandchildren, Michael Victor and Ryan, Grant and Samantha Hellings, his brother-in-law, Arthur Gauthier, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends including Arlene Beck. He was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Gauthier. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 10am until noon at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin. The Berlin Lions Club will meet for a service at 11:30am.
