It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Jeanne Spilka of Kensington on September 18, 2016 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain with her family by her side. Born in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Anthony Roselli and late Philomena Guerrera, and a resident of Kensington most of her life, she was proud to be a homemaker and made a wonderful life taking care of her family. She graduated from New Britain High School, was a former secretary of the Junior Women's Club, former treasurer of The Kensington Garden Club, and had taught CCD at her church, St. Paul's of Kensington. She loved traveling with her husband, family vacations, playing bridge with her bridge group and loved being with her friends and family. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Spilka, her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Stephen Stachelek of Middlefield, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Kate Spilka of Kensington, and Daniel and Julie Spilka of Medway, Massachusetts. She was the very proud Nana to Jonathan and his wife, Elyse Stachelek of North Haven, James Stachelek of Austin, Texas, Samuel, Jack, and Robert Trent Spilka of Kensington and Hailey and Connor Spilka of Massachusetts, her sister, Angela Gwara of Kensington, and her nieces, and several great nieces, great nephews and many close dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Lucy Janowiec, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Mary Spilka. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude for the great care mom received from Jola, her aide, who became a member of our family, The Hospital of Central Connecticut N 3 and C 5 floors, and the Westfield Care Rehab Center in Meriden.
